Why We Do Business the Way We Do
Our reputation for doing business honestly, respecting our neighbours, minimizing our environmental impacts and keeping our people safe is essential to the sustainability of our business. Responsibility, integrity and accountability have guided us for more than 25 years.
We are dedicated to the highest safety and environmental standards, establishing and maintaining good relationships with our communities and host governments, and creating real, lasting, and tangible benefits for the people whose lives our operations touch.
We are committed to protecting human rights in all areas of our business operations and expect our business partners, including contractors and suppliers, to do the same. We respect the rights of employees, contractors, workers in our supply chain, and members of the local community with regards to working conditions, freedom of association, maximum working hours, minimum wages, equal opportunities and freedom from discrimination and intimidation.
ACT WITH INTEGRITY
We are committed to acting with integrity. For us, this means being honest, straightforward and accountable. We do what we say we’re going to do, whether this is amending our mine plans based on community feedback or fully reclaiming areas no longer needed for mining use.
Every day we strive to demonstrate that mining can be done responsibly by prioritising environmental stewardship at every stage of the project life-cycle. We asses our potential impacts and identify ways to mitigate these to ensure our environmental footprint is as small as possible. We take our responsibility to protect the air, water and soil very seriously and use best-available technologies to pro-actively measure and monitor our activities.
People come first. The safety and security of our people and our neighbours is paramount. We uphold industry best practices, strictly adhere to local and Canadian safety regulations and have strict management systems in place to promote a culture where employees and contractors understand and take responsibility for their own safety and that of their coworkers. Safety is fully ingrained in the way we operate.
